Supporting ARTS, EDUCATION and Community

MISSION STATEMENT

The Stewart Family Foundation was established in 2002 by Diane P. Stewart and Samuel S. Stewart. The Foundation focuses on Salt Lake City, and the state of Utah, where the Stewart family has deep roots, but also makes international grants for those in need.

The Foundation actively supports the arts, education, community activism for change, women and children's issues, and causes which improve quality of life for all.

ARTS

The Stewart Family Foundation has championed the arts and artists in Utah since its conception. A passion for arts and artists has helped bring financing to exceptional institutions like the Central Utah Art Center (CUAC), Utah Museum of Fine Art, BYU Museum of Art, Springville Museum of Art, and Utah Museum of Contemporary Art.

EDUCATION

Education is a human right, giving people the tools to forge their own futures.  Sometimes access to education can be its own challenge. The Stewart Family Foundation has energized education both from within Utah for local institutions like the McGillis School, and globally for disadvantaged women in Africa through the No Poor Among Us foundation.

Access to education doesn't just help students, but the future of their families and communities.  Education can break economic patterns and allow people to make their own choices and take charge of their lives.

COMMUNITY

Community starts at the individual, and the drive to have a positive impact on the people around them. Supporting arts, education, and progressive reform that gives more people access to more opportunity helps everyone.

The Stewart Family Foundation is a proud supporter of women's rights through the Women's Empowerment foundation, and other progressive institutions created to help give the underprivileged the tools they need to excel. The Stewart Family Foundation also supports the access to healthcare and medical services for the elderly through the Community Nursing Services of Utah so that no one at any stage of life is denied access to appropriate healthcare.
